Welcome to the Shambhala Center of Chicago!
The Shambhala Meditation Center of Chicago is part of an international community of urban meditation and rural retreat centers founded by Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, and currently headed by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche.
Located on the corner of Sherwin and Sheridan Road in Rogers Park, the Chicago Center has served the Chicagoland area for over 30 years, offering meditation instruction, public meditation practice, weekend retreats and classes exploring the budhadharma, the contemplative arts and how to apply meditation in everyday life.
There is open meditation with free meditation instruction available at 7:00PM every Tuesday evening, from 9:00AM until noon on Sunday mornings and at 6:30PM on Sunday evening.
Our book store sells books, practice supplies, and meditation cushions.
Practice and study go hand in hand. Please feel free to use this website and our center to deepen your practice and your understanding of the path of meditation.
