A Weekend of Teaching and Meditation from Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche's new book.
Stars of Wisdom is a treasure-filled book about the Mahayana path of wisdom, compassion, and joy. In analytical meditation, rather than taking the breath as the object of focus, we take an aspect of the truth of reality and use that as our object of focus. For an example, we might look at how the self that we confusedly imagine we are does not exist in the way we think it does.
Stars of Wisdom also introduces readers to the joy and profundity of yogic song, and reveals the power of such songs to inspire, transform, and brighten our hearts. These songs, sung to familiar, haunting melodies, are inspiring and instructive – an example:
Just like dream -- happiness and suffering
And in this way, good and bad deeds result in joy and pain
Such an explanation of cause, result, and karma—
E ma! What a wonderful miracle!
Open to all!
Come for an opportunity to hear teachings from the book, ask questions, and receive meditation instruction from the book's translators and Khenpo Rinpoche's close students, Ari Goldfield and Rose Taylor.
There is an introductory talk on Friday, April 30 Friday (7-9pm, $20 pre-register, $25 at the door; no extra charge for anyone who signs up for this weekend.)
