Open Meditation Schedule
Free meditation instruction is available during all of these times; Meditation Instructors and/or Shambhala guides are available to meet with newcomers or anyone else wanting guidance with their meditation practice.
Cushions are supplied; you do not need to bring anything.
Sundays -- Public Sitting 9:00am -- noon
For longtime practitioners and beginners alike. Join us for chants, group meditation, guided contemplation.
There is a community gathering time at Noon, featuring light refreshments and a chance to catch up with one another.
Tuesdays -- Public Sitting 7:00pm -- 9:00pm
On Tuesdays, we open our doors to newcomers and seasoned practitioners. After an initial hour of sitting and walking meditation, we have a brief break at 8 PM for refreshments.
Then we end with an open reading and group discussion.
Thursdays -- Public Sitting 7:00pm -- 9:00pm
Join us for group meditation practice and chants every Thursday evening from 7-9 PM.
GLBT/Queer Dharma Group -- Sundays, 6:30pm -- 8:30pm
The Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transexual / Queer Dharma group meets Sunday Evenings from 7-9pm at the Center for meditation with instruction, a talk and discussion, and refreshments and socialization. The format is one hour of sitting meditation (with a brief instruction), a reading & discussion, and time to nosh & socialize. We hope that by holding GLBT meeting on a weekly basis it will be easier for everyone to further their personal regular meditation practice as well as begin to get to know other LGBT persons and possibly make friends.

Logan Square Satellite Sitting Group
Wednesdays, 6:45 - 9:00 pm (Meditation 7-8:30; light refreshments follow)
After getting settled into a new location, our satellite meditation group will begin weekly sits on Wednesday, October 10.

Meditation and the Twelve Steps Group
Sunday Eventings, 5 - 6:30 pm
Summer 2008: June 1, June 29, July 13, August 3 & August 24
A regular gathering of meditation instruction, sitting practice, reading and discussion. Currently we are discussing a step each week with a short lead to get us started.
This is an opportunity to explore how the 12 Steps, meditation practice and mindfulness can enhance our recovery. Members of any 12 Step recovery program are welcome to attend.
