Administrative and Communications Assistant
The Chicago Shambhala Meditation Center is seeking to hire an Administrative and Communications Assistant on a part-time contractor basis. The Admin/Communications Assistant plays a key role in the life of the center by publicizing programs, events and practice sessions, and by communicating with the Chicago sangha through newsletters, social media and other means. This is a pivotal position in a majority volunteer-run organization. This position reports to the Governing Council. This announcement will remain open until the position is filled.
Benefits:
This position pays $16/hour & offers unlimited program credit at Chicago Shambhala Meditation Center.
Expectation:
15-20 hours a week
Role:
60% Communications, Marketing & Publicity
40% Administrative Duties
Publicity/Marketing
Digital communications (email, newsletters, phone), social media, publicity, continue and increase marketing efforts
Administrative
Monitoring and completing program registrations, program support, management of center mailing list
Ongoing projects: membership, website management and updates, rentals
Additional TBD
Skills:
-Graphic Design expertise (Adobe Illustrator, etc)
-Website management experience (WordPress, etc.)
-Database management
-Experience with various online marketing websites (Classpass, MeetUp)
-Experience with Search Engine Optimization and other digital marketing strategies (Google Ads, Bing)
-Ability to devise and implement new administrative, membership, marketing, publicity plans and structures as needed
-Capable of expressing your thoughts and opinions in a clear and precise manner
-Facility with email communications (Mailchimp, etc)
-Ability to multi-task and assess needs, then direct energy as needed
-Copywriting
