Annual Summer Retreat ''There's no Place Like Home'' hosted by Queer Dharma Chicago

with Alice Dan & Larry Wolf

August 11th—August 18th (2017)

Date details +
Room: Windhorse Retreat Center, W7110 County Hwy U, Plymouth, WI
    Program Registration is Closed.
You are invited to connect body and mind in a warm, supportive environment. This retreat is open to EVERYONE- whatever your gender identity, race, sexual orientation, socio-economic class, age or personal quirks may be. The practice of meditation in a retreat setting is a powerful tool to begin to work with what is known as all-pervasive suffering - a constant low-level anxiety or sense of dissatisfaction with life and the feeling that our mind is sometimes out of control. Through meditation we begin to experience all-pervasive basic goodness.  If you have noticed how meditating 10 minutes a day helps you, imagine meditating 6 - 8 hours per day.  People notice the difference in how they relate with themselves and life very quickly.

The retreat includes daily meditation and light yoga or qi gong, silence during the day, meditation interviews and group discussion. This program is good for both the complete novice and very experienced meditators. Meditation instruction will be given and individual interviews will take place throughout the week. Teachers Alice Dan and Larry Wolf will give a series of dharma talks, some of which will address diversity issues common to all when relating to the illusion of self and other and the need for connection.
