Room: Community Room, West Loop Center

The Buddha’s fundamental insights into human existence became the foundation for generations of practitioners of the Buddhist path, and a source of inspiration for many others, up to the present day.

As an additional offering to our 1-day retreat, What the Buddha Taught: Reinventing the Wheel: Understanding Karma, Interdependence and Auspicious Coincidence (Aug 24), Shambhala is offering this 2-month study group to explore in greater depth the central Buddhist concept of interdependence - how karma works - and how this classical teaching underpins the Shambhala principles of windhorse and “auspicious coincidence.”

As we practice meditation and learn more about the habitual tendencies that keep us locked in this cycle of confusion, we begin to unravel our misunderstanding and tame the patterns that cause this suffering.  Through the practice of waking up in the present moment, we plant the seeds for wisdom and auspiciousness to blossom.

All are welcomed regardless of experience level or participation in any prior program. While it is ideal to attend both the 1-day retreat and the study groups, you are welcome to attend either segment. Come for one or all sessions. Meetings are free and donations are welcomed.
