Nyinthun / Daylong Meditation Retreat

with Shastri David Stone

February 16th

Date details +
Room: West Loop Shambhala Center, 37 N. Carpenter St.

In the Tibetan language nyin means “day” and thun means “session.” For new and seasoned practitioners, this is an ideal opportunity to deepen the meditation experience of calmly abiding with one’s own body-mind. Meditation instruction will be available for newcomers and partial attendance is welcome. Sitting and walking meditation will alternate with occasional short inspirational presentations throughout the day.

Shastri David Stone will offer a brief presentation on the “protector principle“ in light of the upcoming protector practice days at the Center. The protector recitations will be done daily during the 11 days preceding the lunar new year, aka Shambhala Day, on February 24. (There are no chants the day before Shambhala Day.)

    Sitting Periods:
    9:30 am -12:30 pm
    2:00 pm - 6:00 pm
