Mudra Space Awareness practice was developed by Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche in the early ‘70’s. It is based upon his training for monastic dance. It was originally created as the core practice for the Mudra Theater Group, although it is not just actors who benefit from the practice. The same qualities that underlie genuine performance on stage underlie full involvement in our own life.
Mudra Space Awareness is a rigorous exploration of one’s relationship to body, speech, mind and space. It is an intensive, physical method for synchronizing body and mind. When body and mind are synchronized, we are present and each mudra, i.e. gesture, we make is real and thorough. This is the basis for genuine activity and expression in the art of everyday life.
This 3 1/2 hour workshop will provide an introduction to Mudra practice.
