Welcome the new year with visiting teacher Mark Blumenfeld from Madison, WI. Mark will be teaching us in a one-day program on Feb 17, rather than Jan 13-14 as originally scheduled.

This program captures the heart of Shambhala—the view that human beings are fundamentally good and awake and that this capacity can be cultivated and strengthened through meditation, reflection and personal conduct. Explore this view in your own experience through talks, meditation, and discussions.

With meditation as its basis, this one-day workshop emphasizes the development of genuineness, confidence, humor and dignity within the complexity of our daily life.

This is the first program of Shambhala’s five-part Heart of Warriorship series based on the well-known teachings of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche in Shambhala: The Sacred Path of the Warrior.

Suitable for both beginning and experienced meditators who want to deepen their meditation experience.

This program will be in-person only at our West Loop center.

Mark Blumenfeld became a Shambhala student in 1979 when he began studying with Chogyam Trungpa, Rinpoche. He was one of the founders of the Madison, Shambhala Center and has been teaching and leading retreats in Shambhala since 1990. Mark has he recently retired from the Board of Shambhala after years of dedicated service. He is married to Dr. Lora Wiggins, has three adult children and a recent grandchild.
