"I have done what I can; now you must do the rest."

These are some of the final words uttered by Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche to Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche more than a quarter of a century ago.

This event will support our aspiration as Shambhalians to manifest Enlightened Society. In this endeavor, there are no bystanders. Each person makes a difference.

We will explore what we are doing now as well as key questions for the future:

- How does social transformation intersect with our path as Shambhala Buddhist students and practitioners?

- How could our Shambhala Centers become exemplary leaders in embracing diversity and inclusiveness across all sectors of society?

- What skills, practices and actions will be most helpful in a world struggling with racism and other forms of social, economic and ecological marginalization?"

- How might we support and engage with diverse individuals and communities aligned with the Shambhala Principle?

With teachings and guidance from Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche and Acharya Fleet Maull we will explore these questions and where they lead us in creating the future of Shambhala as force for social transformation in a world beset with increasing materialism, speed, aggression, and social alienation.

In his book, The Shambhala Principle, Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche wrote,

"Now I ask you to touch your heart, feel your courage, intelligence, and kindness and join me in proclaiming the basic goodness of humanity. By doing this, we are unfurling humanity's new flag, our collective conviction in human worthiness, the force that will change the future of our planet."

This day and a half retreat promises to be dynamic and energizing with meditation, deep listening practice and small group dialogue and inquiry into the Sakyong's call to manifest the Shambhala Principle at this time for the benefit humanity and our planet.

Please join us in launching the new West Loop Chicago Shambhala Center as a center for social transformation.

**Please note: seating in the Shrine Room with teachers is limited and will be assigned on a first-registered basis.  You are registered when you've made $100 deposit.  Over-flow seating will be in the community room adjacent to the Shrine Room with a large screen monitor.**
